Frontend. Frustration-free by Design.
Hi, I'm David Eiken (still legally David Maciejewski until my wedding in August). For 30 years, I have been designing and building digital media. Today, I channel this experience as a specialized Senior Frontend Engineer.

Starting in print, I made the transition to the web at the turn of the millennium. I learned HTML and CSS autodidactically – long before YouTube or suitable degree programs. Instead of dry theory, my focus was on hands-on practice: as a full-stack developer, I covered concept, design, frontend, and backend for years. This curious mindset of looking beyond the horizon still shapes me today – all the way to agentic coding.
This intrinsic drive showed early on where it would lead: as a digital pioneer, I launched ‘Technikwürze’ in 2005 – one of the first German podcasts. What started as a one-man show quickly evolved into a collaborative format: by purposefully involving external experts, I drove the democratization of technical knowledge – and learned that the best results always arise through collaboration.
This principle still applies today. I work at the intersection of design and deployment – bringing people, ideas, and code together into a thoughtful user experience. Since 2015, I have also been lecturing at the university, showing students how modern websites are built – mobile-first, responsive, and frustration-free.
