Privacy Policy for Video Surveillance (Property Camera)

1. Purpose of the Camera(s)

The images from our camera(s) are not publicly accessible. They are strictly private and are recorded exclusively within the boundaries of our own property.

Public paths, sidewalks, the street, and neighboring properties are not captured.

The use of the camera(s) is to exercise our domiciliary rights and serves the following purposes:

Prevention of unauthorized access
Protection against theft and prevention of vandalism
Surveillance for accident prevention during the construction phase
Ongoing security of the property after the house has been completed

During the construction phase, the camera also serves to document construction progress (time-lapse recording). Once the house is completed and occupied, the camera continues to operate solely for security purposes.

2. Privacy Information

Data Controller

The operator of the camera(s) is responsible for compliance with all data protection regulations in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Legal Basis

The processing is based on Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest). Our legitimate interest consists in the protection of our property (protection against theft and vandalism), accident prevention during the construction phase, and the ongoing exercising of our domiciliary rights after the house is completed.

Retention Period

During the construction phase, recordings are stored for the duration of the construction project (subject to any statutory retention periods) due to the additional documentary time-lapse recording of construction progress, and are subsequently deleted.

In regular operation after the house is completed and occupied, recordings from the security camera(s) are automatically deleted after 72 hours. Longer storage only occurs if the recordings are required to investigate a specific incident (e.g., burglary, property damage), such as for submission to law enforcement authorities.
